Retirees
Will Nord - Founder
May 14, 1936 - Dec. 29, 2022
In 1968 Will started the Viticulture program at Napa Valley College. His advisory board for the program was the then “Who’s Who” of Napa Valley wine, with members including Robert Mondavi, Joe Heitz, Louis Martini, Brother Tim, and Roland Wilkinson. Through Will’s teaching and mentorship in the 1970’s and 80’s, he has passed on his skills and knowledge to countless winery owners and vineyard managers. He is missed greatly.
Dr. Don Clark, Ph.D. - President/Sales
Watching Don manage the vineyards in denims and his trademark cowboy hat, one would not guess at first glance that this modest Texan holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Agriculture, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, all from Texas A&M University. A vineyard manager for over ten years, he stated, “My family still dry-land farms in Southwest Texas, growing crops and raising sheep. Observing the economic realities of this form of agriculture led me to greatly appreciate people who choose farming as a way of life.”
Julie Nord - Soil Science/
Julie Nord is one of the few women vineyard managers in California. Since she joined Nord Coast Vineyard Service in 1994, the company has quadrupled in size. Julie Nord was raised in the Napa Valley around agriculture all her life. While working her way through various aspects of the vineyard and winery industry, Ms. Nord received her B.A. in Chemistry and Music from U.C. Davis and went on to Texas A&M University for a M.S. in Soil Science. After spending time as a lab director for a soil testing and remediation lab in Texas, Ms. Nord returned to Napa Valley as a co-owner of Nord Coast Vineyard Service.
